This is our Intensified Charge Coupled Device (ICCD) detector. It allows us to view a
range of wavelengths from the monochromator, and thereby increases the speed with which
we record spectra. It functions like a digital camera (but is a LOT more expensive), but
is specially built to run at low temperature to reduce dark noise.
